Valleyview is one of Kamloops’ largest and most established residential neighbourhoods, stretching across the hillside south of the Trans-Canada Highway. With a mix of 1970s-era split-levels, newer infill homes, and townhouse complexes along Valleyview Drive, junk accumulates fast in this family-heavy community. Junk Haul Guys provides fast, affordable junk removal throughout Valleyview — same-day service, upfront pricing, and eco-friendly disposal.

Why Valleyview Homes Accumulate Junk
Valleyview’s housing stock tells the story. Many homes here were built in the 1970s and 1980s, which means original owners have had decades to fill basements, garages, and sheds. As these long-time residents downsize or pass properties to the next generation, the cleanout jobs are substantial.
The neighbourhood sits above the Aberdeen Mall area, with Pacific Way and Valleyview Drive serving as the main corridors. Homes along the upper streets — near Minster Park and Valleyview Secondary School — tend to have larger lots with detached garages and workshops that become dumping grounds over the years.
Newer townhome developments along the lower portions of Valleyview bring a different challenge: tight spaces and limited storage mean residents hit their capacity faster and need regular purges of furniture, boxes, and household items.
Common Junk Removal Jobs in Valleyview
The types of jobs we handle most in Valleyview include:
- Basement cleanouts — decades of accumulated storage from long-term homeowners
- Garage and workshop clearing — old tools, lumber, paint cans, broken equipment
- Furniture removal — couches, mattresses, dressers, dining sets from home upgrades
- Appliance hauling — fridges, washers, dryers, water heaters from 1970s-era homes being renovated
- Yard waste removal — branches, sod, landscaping debris from spring and fall cleanup
- Estate cleanouts — full-home clearing for families managing a loved one’s property
- Renovation debris — drywall, flooring, tile, and fixtures from kitchen and bathroom remodels
Whether it’s a single couch or a three-bedroom basement packed floor to ceiling, we handle it all.
Valleyview Access and Logistics
Valleyview’s hillside layout means some properties sit on steep driveways or have limited truck access on narrower residential streets. Our crews are experienced with Kamloops’ terrain — we bring the right equipment and plan the route before arrival so there are no surprises.
For larger jobs near Valleyview Secondary or along the upper streets off Desmond Drive, we can stage the truck on the closest accessible point and handle the carry-out. No extra charge for stairs or distance from the curb.
Pro tip: If you’re clearing out a Valleyview basement, sort items into “keep,” “donate,” and “junk” piles before we arrive. This saves time on the job and can reduce your cost.
Disposal Done Right
Everything we haul from Valleyview gets handled responsibly:
- Recyclable materials go to the appropriate Recycle BC depot or the city’s recycling facilities
- Usable furniture and appliances are donated to local Kamloops charities and thrift stores
- Construction debris and general waste goes to the Mission Flats Landfill, where we pay tipping fees so you don’t have to make the trip yourself
- Electronics and e-waste are taken to certified e-waste recyclers, keeping hazardous materials out of the landfill
Kamloops doesn’t offer municipal bulk pickup, so professional junk removal is the most practical option for Valleyview residents who don’t own a truck or trailer.

Frequently Asked Questions
How fast can you pick up junk in Valleyview?
We offer same-day service throughout Kamloops, including Valleyview. Call before noon and we can usually get to you the same day, subject to availability. For scheduled pickups, we offer morning and afternoon time windows.
Do you charge extra for stairs or steep driveways in Valleyview?
No. Our quoted price covers the full job, including carrying items from basements, upper floors, or properties with steep driveways. The price we quote is the price you pay.
What happens to my junk after you pick it up?
We sort everything at the end of each day. Usable items go to local donation centres, recyclables go to Recycle BC depots, and the rest goes to Mission Flats Landfill. We divert as much as possible from the landfill.
Can you remove items from a shed or detached garage?
Absolutely. Shed and garage cleanouts are one of our most common jobs in Valleyview. We’ll clear everything out, load it up, and haul it away. If the shed itself needs to come down, ask about our shed removal service.
Do I need to be home for the pickup?
We prefer that someone is on-site so we can confirm exactly what needs to go and provide the final quote. If that’s not possible, we can arrange access details in advance.
